About the role

Our Allpress Roastery café menu is fresh and simple, consisting of delicious sandwiches, classic breakfast and lunch dishes and a selection of sweets and cakes. We prepare everything on site, in an open kitchen and using the best seasonal ingredients we can get our hands-on. We're currently looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Chef de partie to join our team in Dalston.

Previous kitchen experience is incredibly useful but not essential, as is attention to detail, a knack for multi-tasking and a willingness to get things done. Working in a café environment can be unpredictable, so being able to keep cool under pressure is a must.

Our team rotates their responsibilities daily, so as a Chef de partie, you’ll need to feel as happy doing the dishes, as owning the baking and mise en place.

In this role you will:

  • Ensure consistent high standards of food preparation and presentation e.g. sandwich making, baking, fresh juice preparation

  • Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions with customers, suppliers and colleagues

  • Setup, pack down, pot-wash and cleaning of food areas

Hours: 5 shifts per week around 38-40 hours per week

Salary: £10.85 per hour

Days: Flexibility on days is preferred and weekend availability is essential.

Times: The cafe is open between 8-4 Mon-Fri and 9-4 on Saturdays and Sundays. Guaranteed daytime working.

Probation period: 3 months

Reporting to: Kitchen Manager

Experience: A love for hospitality, no kitchen/cafe specific experience required but an understanding of running a busy kitchen space is a bonus.

If you're a friendly, professional and sincere team player who really relishes the opportunity to deliver exceptional service - we'd love to hear from you.

 Diversity & Inclusion Statement

At Allpress we truly believe we are better together – We are committed to being an inclusive organisation where all people feel valued, respected and engaged.

We commit to…

Continuously working towards removing barriers and bias.

Building inclusive teams who represent people from all groups in society

Building a safe environment where it is encouraged to speak out against discrimination in any form.

Cultivating a sense of belonging by encouraging our people to fearlessly bring their whole selves to work.
