This role will report to the UK Financial Controller and will be responsible for preparing financial information for reporting and ensuring the integrity of the data collected within the ERP system. The role will combine a mix of both financial reporting and commercial finance and become pivotal in business operations.

About the role.

This role will report to the UK Financial Controller and will be responsible for preparing financial information for reporting and ensuring the integrity of the data collected within the ERP system. The role will combine a mix of both financial reporting and commercial finance and become pivotal in business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reporting

  • Prepare Month End Accounts in line with IFRS: accruals, costings and recharges across departments, intercompany reconciliations, hedging and loan valuations and P&L reviews across Wholesale and the Allpress Cafes.

  • Prepare monthly Balance Sheet and Bank Reconciliations for multiple currency accounts

  • Facilitate and account for a stocktake of Technical, Coffee and Consumables & Hardware. Liaise with and consciously challenge operations to guide day-to-day best practice and ensure accuracy and reliability of data collated.

  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns (UK, EU) and ensure integrity of the data captured in the accounting system.

  • Assist in the annual Audit through preparation of Year End results and collaboration with external auditors.

  • Review and approve Data Processor’s work including cash entries, AP and AR batch payments to ensure data accuracy.

Business Partnering

  • Preparation of documents to bring commercial insight to the business – Local & Global KPIs, monthly Sales Dashboards.

  • Lead the education of Operational teams (Café Managers, Account Managers, Sales team, Technical team) to broaden their understanding of financial impacts of decisions they make and review and provide feedback on errors to ensure data integrity.

Debtors/Creditors Performance Management 

  • Monitor and manage local and international Debtors and Creditors to ensure cashflow efficiency and maintenance of key supply chain relationships.

  • Pro-actively minimise bad debts via internal collaboration and guidance for customers who may present debt risk and ensure debt recovery procedures are utilised effectively. 

  • Perform regular high valued foreign currency transactions and assist in hedging and foreign exchange reconciliations on stock purchases and intercompany transactions.

About You

  • A Qualified Finance Professional (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)

  • Experience working within a small-medium sized entity/business as an accountant.

  • You will have strong communication and problem-solving skills; and be comfortable managing the end to end finance processes within a small business.

  • Experience with stock management and reconciliation.

  • Planning capability and effective time management; highly capable in analytical thinking and attention to detail.

  • Strong Excel and modelling skills.

  • Loves coffee!

 This is a part-time role which means 3 days a week or 24 hours per week.
