We’re looking for a Café Cook to join our Roastery Cafe team in Freemans Bay. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an iconic New Zealand coffee brand, create seasonal food with top local produce, and be part of a culture that values collaboration, creativity, and quality. This is a permanent, Full-Time 35 hours per week position with Monday to Friday with shifts between 5am-12pm or 6am-1pm.
What you will bring:
Strong cooking skills with proven experience in a café or hospitality environment
Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Passion and genuine love for good food, coffee, and great service.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A positive, adaptable, and team-focused attitude.
Adaptability and a positive, collaborate attitude
High standard of personal presentation and hygiene
What you will be doing:
Preparing and presenting a simple, high-quality menu that complements our coffee.
Helping develop new recipes and seasonal menu items that reflect our values and customer demand.
Building strong relationships with local suppliers and sourcing the best seasonal produce.
Managing stock, ordering, and reducing food waste.
Ensuring food safety and health & safety compliance at all times.
Working closely with our Ponsonby Bakery team to coordinate baked products.
Supporting the front-of-house when needed – from clearing dishes to taking customer orders – and always delivering exceptional hospitality.
