After living in Australia for seven years the owner Akaishi san fell in love with the café culture there and wanted to introduce the taste of Australia to Yokohama.
Good on You coffee stand is just a stone’s throw from Isezaki-chojamachi station. A big window opens onto the street with a simple sign above that sums it up in true Australian style – ‘Pie and Coffee’
Akaishi-san has perfected and possibly improved on the quintessentially Australian meat pie. They are making them from scratch in the café and we can vouch for the fact that they are authentic and delicious and the coffee is just as good.
After 5 pm the café transforms into a standing bar. Beer and whisky with chips anyone? Akaishi-san knows a thing or two about food and drinks pairing.
The cafe is thoughtfully designed with unpretentious details that make it a perfect neighbourhood hangout. This in combination with the warm welcome makes you feel like an instant regular.
